configuration: T-shaped. Can be Equal Tee (all three ports same diameter) or Reducing Tee (branch outlet is smaller than the run). Standards / Material Options: For steel/carbon steel: often manufactured to standards like ASME/ANSI B16.9, material spec like ASTM A234 WPB for the body of tee. For plastics (PVC, CPVC, uPVC): conforming to ASTM D-2466 / ASTM D-1784 etc. for PVC schedule 40 fittings. Sizes: Available in a wide range of nominal pipe sizes (from small diameters like ½″ up to larger diameters). Weinstein & others supply up to e.g. 36″ or more. End Connections: Butt-weld, socket weld, solvent weld, slip / thread types (depending on material). In steel, normally butt weld. In PVC/CPVC, usually socket/solvent weld type.
